Condor .257
Lets see some AF .257 builds and progress
I recently lucked into a condor made up by Doug and am still feeling pretty dang happy about it. First I outfitted it with an awesome ergo grip recommended by cricket. This grip is outstanding and the beaver tail fits perfect with the CF bottle. http://airgunsforum.com/picture.php?...pictureid=2785 I set it up over the chrony for 3-4 shots at 160fpe or so without much trouble. This is running approx. 3600psi fill. The arsenal 257388 showed promise on paper over some other options so I went for some groups. http://airgunsforum.com/picture.php?...pictureid=2787 http://airgunsforum.com/picture.php?...pictureid=2786 I probably pulled a shot in this one but this was the first attempt at 100 yards. |
I could tell that the shooter was the limitation at 100 yards so I backed up to 50 yards and this time cleaned the barrel before shooting the group.
http://airgunsforum.com/picture.php?...pictureid=2788 Not too shabby considering I'm not that good of a shot. Dave loaned me some molds for further testing and I found the Ideal 257388 was slightly out shooting my Arsenal 257388. The Arsenal rounds drop out of the mold at 85gr and the Ideal run 87gr. The Ideal bullets are shooting at an average of 915fps over four shots at PW2-14 and 3650psi fill. This time I setup at a distance I felt I could perform well at. Target shot with range finder to get 84 yards and I wasn't going to move it one more yard back before shooting :) http://airgunsforum.com/picture.php?...pictureid=2789 Now that I've got some proven accuracy I think I'll fine tune it over the chrono with the Ideal 87gr. rounds. |
She sure is a shooter ! And that other 388 mold I sent ya is doing better than the Noble ?
|
Sweet rifle you got there. One day I'll have a .257 on the AF platform...one day lol
|
257388 is still the favorite bullet.
