Default What scope for Texan

Well I got my Texan. Cleaning it up and getting it ready for testing. Wondering about a scope. The guy I got it from was into the "tactical" mode and had it equipped with all kinda of goodies to include a 6-24x50 scope.
This is WAY too much scope for what I want to do. Here are the basics.

White tail deer hunting with mil-dots (or hashes) for hold-over to 100-150 yds w/o lowering zoom (25yd zero), or adjusting turrets. Seems most of the mil-dot scopes I run across only have 4 dots, which I don't think is enough.

What would you recommend for size?

Trying to keep cost under $200.

Thanks

It's one of those no-name 6-24x50 scopes. I wound up putting it on my 12fpe bottle QB79 that I built. It shold work on that. I think it is one of those one you can get off ebay for like $40.
