Default Showbox compressor

I live in a state that does not offer filling pressures of 4500 psi. I am in North Central Arkansas . You would have to drive to Memphis Tenn to find a compressor to fill to that pressure. I want to get a high end PCP and need a way to fill it. The Shoebox compressor is inexpensive compared to others iv'e looked at. I just don't have the money to throw away on junk. Have any of you tried this compressor and has it held up over an extended period of time? This would be my only option to fill without driving 320 mile round trip.

The Shoebox is a nice compressor. Its built to last a very long time. There are a couple of consumables that will go out on them eventually but they are cheap and easy to replace. Just remember you need an oiless compressor to run it.

I kinda disagree Dave. The pressure switch on atleast a couple units wanders which can be dangerous on some in my opinion. I always set a timer when I use mine, and keep an eye on the gage on my tank. I never fill one of my guns with it directly anymore for fear I might get distracted and wind up with an over charged gun.

It does the job, but its biggest defense IMO is that its better than the MRODAIR compressor.

to be fair. It does work. Service issues vary depending on who you talk to.

i bought mine used .. came with the pressure switch. It arrived in dec 2014 and is still working well. 25 fills, though my tank is only a 2500psi steel one.

i did get a guppy tank and filled it. the cutoff shut off right at 4500 psi according to the gauge on the guppy. i would still sit near it and not bank on the switch cutting off every time.

I've had good luck with the shoebox. Tom is great to deal with and I'm a sucker for good parts support. It's a relatively simple machine to understand and use.

I do not like the spring style shutoff and so far my electronic shutoff hasn't proven to be much of an improvement. Time will tell, but shutting it off manually has never bothered me either. I doubt I would trust a shutoff on any equipment dealing with HPA just because over charging is a whole lot worse than checking on it from time to time.
