Umarex USA Inc. has announced what they claim to be a major breakthrough in regulated Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) air rifles: the Umarex Gauntlet. Umarex says that the Gauntlet offers the performance of $1,000+ PCPs for an MSRP of just $299.

The company tells HAM that the Umarex Gauntlet provides a huge number of consistent, powerful shots from one fill of its high capacity 13-cu. in. regulated tank. The built-in regulator delivers minimal FPS variation from shot-to-shot for long, flat shot strings—this translates directly into outstanding accuracy for hunting, Field Target competition and just-for-fun plinking.

With 70 incredibly consistent shots at 1000 FPS in .177 caliber, or 60 shots at 900 FPS in .22 caliber, the Umarex Gauntlet is said to be in a class of its own. No longer do shooters need to worry about variations in FPS due to changing tank pressure—the “shot curve” characteristic of unregulated PCP airguns, says Umarex. As long as the built-in pressure gauge shows green, Gauntlet’s regulator means FPS remains rock-steady, they say.

This multi-shot, bolt-action repeater uses economical, easily loaded interchangeable 10-shot magazines for rapid fire. One mag is supplied with the Gauntlet and additional magazines are available as accessories.

The Gauntlet’s 3,000 psi air tank is easily filled using the built-in, standard Foster quick connect fitting. For extended shooting sessions, a simple pressure release key allows the compact regulated tank to be unscrewed when pressure is low. It can be replaced with another, fully charged PCP tank for even more consistent shots, without the need to carry bulky HPA tanks or a hand pump.

Its fully moderated design means the Gauntlet is incredibly quiet. Both stealthy backyard plinkers and serious hunters benefit from its ability to provide rapid, near-silent, full-power follow-up shots on demand.

To maximize its accuracy capability, the Gauntlet has integral standard dovetails for scope mounting. The easily adjustable stock comb locks into position for the ideal cheek weld, whatever your physique or optic. Target shooters will appreciate the included single shot tray for precision shooting.

At 8.5 lbs, the Gauntlet is said to be a comfortable air rifle. Umarex says that it balances well in the hand, another practical aid to outstanding accuracy. The stock’s integral studs allow a sling to be fitted for easy carrying on a hunt.

Umarex says that everything about this air rifle has been optimized to set the new standard in PCP performance. They also claim that Gauntlet is a complete shooting system. Umarex USA offers accessory magazines, regulated HPA tanks and a high pressure PCP Hand Pump for ultimate flexibility.

With this new model, Umarex USA says they have really has thrown down the gauntlet. They claim that this is the PCP air rifle every shooter will want! The Umarex Gauntlet will be shown at the 2017 SHOT Sho

As Josh said it chat it looks quite like a QB79. IMO it looks cheesy. Would have to look past looks and rather focus on functions and design of the gun. Can't wait to hear/read real world reviews and performance.
